Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 1st January, 2019) An eight-year-old boy fell prey to the chemical twine in Lahore.
According to details, the minor belonging to Dharampura area of Lahore fell from his roof after getting stuck in a twine.
The child was taken to Services Hospital in an injured condition.
After remaining under treatment in the hospital for three days, the boy succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan announced the government's decision to lift ban on Basant festival on December 18. He said that a committee would be constituted to deliberate over negative aspects of the festival and suggest steps to avoid them.
The move was challenged in the Lahore High Court.
The petitioner questioned the government's decision to lift ban on Basant, submitting that the restriction was imposed after the festive activity turned into a fatal sport.
He submitted that it was unconstitutional to allow such an activity that results in the loss of human lives. He pleaded with the court to set aside the decision, being illegal, and requested for a stay order in this regard.
