Field Marshal Munir warns India, stresses credible deterrence, regional stability

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praises nation’s unity during Operation Banyan-e-Marsous, stating that operation strengthened public confidence in army

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Oct 18th, 2025) Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Friday delivered a strong warning to the Indian military leadership, emphasizing that in a nuclear environment, there is no room for war between the two countries. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s defensive posture while highlighting the armed forces’ operational successes and readiness.

Field Marshal Munir praised the nation’s unity during Operation Banyan-e-Marsous, stating that the operation strengthened public confidence in the army.

He was addressing the Passing Out Parade at Pakistan Military academy (PMA) Kakul on Saturday.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir recalled Pakistan’s professional response to Indian provocations, including the successful targeting of Rafale aircraft, multiple enemy bases, and S-400 systems, showcasing Pakistan’s multi-domain warfare capabilities.

He criticized India for presenting fabricated evidence, calling it a reflection of the ruling party’s attempt to politicize terrorism. He said Pakistan’s victories against a numerically superior adversary earned recognition from the international community and reinforced public confidence in the armed forces as a pillar of national strength.

The field marshal assured the nation that Pakistan will never cede an inch of its sacred territory and paid tribute to all military personnel and civilians who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland. He stressed that Pakistan’s defense strategy is based on credible deterrence and perpetual readiness, capable of delivering a decisive response if any aggression occurs.

Field Marshal Munir further stated that India’s military and economic losses in any conflict would far exceed its expectations. He urged Indian leadership to resolve core issues through international norms, equality, and mutual respect, warning that minor provocations could have catastrophic regional consequences.

Highlighting Pakistan’s role in regional stability, he said the country has emerged as a net regional stabilizer, strengthened ties with Muslim nations, and contributed significantly to UN peacekeeping missions. He noted that the recent defense agreement with Saudi Arabia enhances regional peace and allows Pakistan’s armed forces to serve in the protection of the Two Holy Mosques. Pakistan’s growing relations with China and the United States were also highlighted as key to regional security and development.

On Kashmir, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance, pledging continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for freedom. He also emphasized Pakistan’s efforts for peace in Gaza and warned that India continues to pursue terrorism as a state-backed policy following its failed aggression.

Field Marshal Munir condemned India’s use of proxy groups like Fitna-e-Hind and Fitna-ul-Khawarij as “hired guns,” urging Afghanistan and the Taliban regime to prevent such proxies from using Afghan soil for attacks in Pakistan.

He concluded by asserting that Pakistan’s armed forces are alert on all fronts, and the national flag will always remain high.

The parade at PMA Kakul marked the passing out of cadets from the 152nd Long Course, 37th Technical Graduate Course, 71st Anti-Great Course, and 26th Lady Cadet Course, including 40 foreign cadets from countries such as Iraq, Maldives, Mali, Nepal, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Nigeria, Qatar, and Bangladesh. Field Marshal Munir inspected the parade and awarded the best-performing cadets with honorary swords and shields.
