Police register FIR and say suspect involved in horrific crime was later killed in a shootout with his own associates
HAFIZABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 5th, 2025) A heart-wrenching case of sexual violence emerged from Hafizabad, where a woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her husband, and the brutality of the incident has sparked outrage, the local police said on Thursday.
The suspect involved in the horrific crime was later killed in a shootout with his own associates.
According to reports, the shocking incident occurred on June 2, and the case was officially filed after the suspects uploaded a video of the assault on social media which led to the public outrage. The woman, who was subjected to this gruesome act, was allegedly forced to engage in sexual acts at gunpoint by the perpetrators, who also filmed the entire ordeal before fleeing the scene.
The husband, helpless in his attempt to protect his wife, watched in agony.
In a desperate plea for justice, the woman’s husband only filed the application for FIR when the video of the assault was shared on social media, exposing the brutality of the crime.
The local police initially arrested one suspect on June 4 but tragically, he was found dead under mysterious circumstances that same night. The reports suggested that after the arrest, the other suspects attempted to free their accomplice by firing at the police. The shootout led to the suspect’s death.
The FIR revealed the chilling details of the woman’s assault.
According to the complainant, he and his wife had been traveling to visit a relative when they stopped near a sugar mill for the wife to relieve herself.
It was at this moment that the suspects approached them, inquiring why they were parked.
After explaining the situation, the suspects turned violent and forced the couple to a nearby cemetery, where the woman was stripped and raped in front of her husband.
The victim's husband, according to the FIR, pleaded with the attackers to stop, but they continued the assault. One of the perpetrators filmed the entire crime.
