ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Oct 31st, 2024) No visa fee for Sikh pilgrims who want to visit Pakistan or arriving here, said Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday.

“The Sikh pilgrims will get their visas within half an hour at airport,” said Mohsin Naqvi while making big announcement for the Sikh people.

During a meeting with a 44-member delegation of Sikh pilgrims from the United States at the State Guest House, Naqvi expressed his warm welcome to the visitors.

He stated that there is a visa-on-arrival facility for US passport-holding Sikh pilgrims and assured that no one would face issues, regardless of how many times they visit in a year.

Naqvi emphasized that there would be no visa fees for Sikh pilgrims upon their arrival in Pakistan. He mentioned that they could visit places like Hassan Abdal, Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur, and that any existing problems would be addressed.

Sikh community members holding passports from the US Canada and the UK can fill out an online form and obtain their visa within 30 minutes.

He further noted that they aim to welcome one million Sikh pilgrims each year, and that they have made visa-free entry available for citizens from 124 countries.

"If you have a passport, just close your eyes and come," he said.

Mohsin Naqvi also mentioned that they are open to welcoming visitors for cricket events, including the Champions Trophy and matches between Pakistan and India. He added that a separate quota will be reserved for Sikh pilgrims and visitors coming from India, as many are expected to arrive.
