About President Arif Alvi, she says she highly respects him
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th May, 2019) Mehwish Hayat, who was recently awarded with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is her favourite politician.
Speaking to media in London, the actress said that she highly respects President Arif Alvi.
“When I met him, I didn’t even have any words except to thank him,” she said.
When asked how she felt at the criticism she faced upon receiving Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, she said, “I was not at all disappointed at the criticism. Every successful person has faced this. I think this is a sign of success.”
Acclaimed actress Mehwish Hayat was conferred with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in the Pakistan Day ceremony held on March 23.
An investiture ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr Saturday evening where President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi conferred civil awards to individuals demonstrating feats in different fields of science and arts.
At least 171 personalities, including some foreigners, were selected for this year's awards.
Among several artists, Mehwish Hayat was conferred with one of the highest civil awards, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, for her contribution to Pakistan’s entertainment industry but her haters called out the actor as non-deserving of the civilian honour both leading up to and after the ceremony.
Mehwish Hayat was called out by her haters as they deemed the actress as non-deserving of the award.
Mehwish however strongly faced the criticism.
