Turkish Police Detain 26 Undocumented Migrants Across Country - Reports

Turkish security forces have apprehended 26 undocumented migrants across the country, some of them were preparing to illegally enter Bulgaria, media reported on Wednesday citing security sources.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th December, 2018) Turkish security forces have apprehended 26 undocumented migrants across the country, some of them were preparing to illegally enter Bulgaria, media reported on Wednesday citing security sources.

In the northwestern Kirklareli province, the security forces were tipped-off about two groups of migrants who were trying to illegally cross the Bulgarian border, according to the Anadolu news agency.

Moreover, the Turkish forces stopped a vehicle carrying seven undocumented Syrian migrants in the southern Gaziantep province, the media outlet reported.

All apprehended migrants were sent to the regional migration departments.

European countries have been experiencing a large-scale migration crisis since 2015 due to the influx of thousands of migrants and refugees fleeing crises in their home countries in the middle East and North Africa. The migrants are trying to reach EU countries through various routes, including via Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Balkans.
