The PDMA’s latest damage assessment report says severe weather affected several districts, including Nowshera, Khyber, Mardan and Buner
PESHAWAR: (UrduPoint /Pakistan Point News-July 21st, 2026) At least 12 people lost their lives and 18 others were injured across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 48 hours as torrential rains and flash floods caused widespread destruction, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The PDMA’s latest damage assessment report said the severe weather affected several districts, including Nowshera, Khyber, Mardan and Buner, while rain-related incidents were also reported in Bajaur, Chitral, Lower Dir, Hazara Division, Kurram and North Waziristan.
The report stated that heavy rainfall and flash flooding damaged 18 houses across the province. Of these, 15 houses sustained partial damage, while three were completely destroyed.
According to the PDMA, the rain-related incidents over the last two days resulted in 12 fatalities and left 18 people injured.
The authority has directed the administrations of the affected districts to ensure the immediate provision of relief supplies and assistance to the victims.
Rescue and relief efforts are continuing in the affected areas as officials monitor the evolving weather situation.
