Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in Faisalabad on 13th October 1948.
His popularity extended, and continues to extend, far beyond geographical and linguistic barriers. The Qawwali maestro has a total of 125 albums to his name, which is the largest recorded output from any Qawwali artist The government of Pakistan bestowed Pride of Performance on the legendary singer in 1987 for his contribution to Pakistani music.
Most of Nusrat's songs including, Allah Hoo Allah Hoo and Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai have been remixedand produced again. However, his vocals remain unmatched.
The great singer and musician died at the age of 48 on 16th August 1997.
