The court, in line with the Islamabad High Court's recent ruling, declares the jail trial in the cipher case illegal, deeming proceedings since August 29, including the indictment, to be without lawful authority.

The IHC division bench has declared appointment of the judge holding trial in the Cipher case as lawful on the ICA moved by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

The decision, based on a Ministry of Law summary citing security concerns, has allowed their trial in Adiala jail.

The top court rules that the president’s move to dissolve the assembly after no-trust motion against Imran Khan was unconstitutional.
