Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier will discuss bilateral ties, relations with Russia and the United States as well as European security during the latter's visit to Finland on September 17-19, the office of the Finnish leader said Monday.
HELSINKI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd September, 2018) Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier will discuss bilateral ties, relations with Russia and the United States as well as European security during the latter's visit to Finland on September 17-19, the office of the Finnish leader said Monday.
"President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his spouse Mrs Elke Budenbender will make a state visit to Finland on 17 to 19 September 2018 ... Topics will include bilateral relations between Finland and Germany, security in Europe and other topical international issues such as relations with Russia and the United States and the future of democracy," the office of the Finnish president said in a statement.
According to the statement, Steinmeier will meet with Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Paula Risikko and Prime Minister Juha Sipila.
The German president is expected to visit icebreaker Polaris and to travel to the city of Oulu.
