Lahore’s CCD to investigate major murder and rivalry cases, with a crackdown expected soon.
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,20, 2025) Following the Ameer Balaj murder case, it is likely that investigations into long-standing enmity and major crime cases will also be handed over to the Crime Control Department (CCD).
According to CCD sources, the department has been tasked with tightening the noose around individuals involved in organizing and committing serious crimes. The CCD is expected to take charge of high-profile cases involving murder and violent feuds that have persisted for years in the city.
The crackdown will also target those who allegedly orchestrate killings through hired shooters. The CCD is set to begin operations against these criminal networks soon.
Meanwhile, the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case will be heard in the Lahore Sessions Court today, where accused Haroon and Bilawal will be produced from jail. The court has summoned prosecution witnesses and ordered the appearance of Gogi Butt and Malik Suhail. The case will be heard by Additional Sessions Judge Syed Najaf Haider Kazmi.
