Justice Kamran Mallakhel takes oath as acting chief justice BHC

Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mallakhel sworn in as Acting Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court during a dignified ceremony in Quetta.

QUETTA: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,20, 2025) Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mallakhel took oath as the Acting Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court during a dignified ceremony held in Courtroom No. 1 on October 20, 2025. Justice Iqbal Ahmed Kasi administered the oath.

The event was attended by the honourable judges of the High Court, Registrar Abdul Qayyum Lehri, senior judicial officers, members of the legal fraternity, and other distinguished guests from various walks of life. Participants warmly congratulated the new Acting Chief Justice and expressed their best wishes for his tenure.

Born in Quetta on January 19, 1968, Justice Mallakhel hails from the renowned Mallakhel family. His father, the late Fazal Rahman Khan, was a respected politician, a member of the Pakhtun Jirga, and a noted businessman.

Justice Mallakhel completed his early education at Tameer-e-Nau school, earned graduate and postgraduate degrees in Commerce from the University of Balochistan, and later obtained a Law degree in 1994. He began his legal career in 1995 and was enrolled as an Advocate of the Supreme Court in 2010.

Throughout his career, he has served in various bar associations, delivered lectures at the Balochistan Judicial academy, and contributed to significant legal reforms, including the Balochistan District Judiciary Act 2021.

Appointed as an Additional Judge in August 2013 and confirmed in September 2015, Justice Mallakhel has decided over 4,000 cases and played a vital role in the judiciary’s development.

Legal officers and lawyers welcomed his appointment, expressing confidence that under his leadership, the judicial system in Balochistan will become stronger and more transparent.
