BEIJING (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st March, 2019) At least seven people were killed and five others were injured as a result of a blast at a plant in the Chinese city of Kunshan in eastern Jiangsu province, local administration said.
The incident took place on Sunday at around 7 a.m. local time (23:00 GMT on Saturday). According to the authorities, a container with scrap metal that was at the plant inflamed and then exploded.
The cause of the incident is being investigated.
On March 21, a blast at a chemical plant in the city of Yancheng in Jiangsu left 78 people killed and 566 others injured. The incident prompted the authorities to launch safety checks at plants across the country.
