MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) The Russian Investigative Committee said Friday that explosion of cooking gas remained the major version of the recent deadly collapse of a residential building in Magnitogorsk, but the investigators were working on all possible causes.
Earlier in the day, media reported that the Islamic State (IS, terror group banned in Russia) was responsible for the incident.
"From the very beginning, the investigation has been working on all possible versions of the tragedy. To date, the priority version is the explosion of cooking gas," Svetlana Petrenko, a spokeswoman for the committee said.
"Conclusions about the cause of the incident can only be made after investigative actions and a thorough analysis of the evidence are conducted. Therefore, I suggest that journalists do not trust the claims of terrorist organizations, which, as you know, attribute to themselves all high-profile incidents in different countries," the spokeswoman added.
