MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th October, 2018) Former executive director of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) Dmitry Domani, who is charged with fraud, was extradited from Montenegro to Moscow, Russian Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk said on Saturday.
"Today, Dmitry Domani, born 1974, was extradited from Montenegro convoyed by officers of the Russian Interior Ministry's National Central Bureau of Interpol and the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service," Volk told reporters.
According to the ministry, Domani, when he was RBF executive director, Domani concluded a series of sham contracts on behalf of the organization with enterprises controlled by him, inflicting material damage to the organization. Trying to avoid criminal punishment, Domani fled Russia.
In 2016, Domani was charged with fraud, and was subsequently wanted by Interpol. In March 2018, he was detained by the police of Montenegro.
