India defeated Pakistan in the semi-final in Japan to reach the final; Pakistan will play for third place against Malaysia.
JAPAN: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June-06,2026) In the semi-final of the Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey Tournament, India defeated Pakistan to qualify for the final.
The second semi-final of the Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup, being held in Japan, was played between traditional rivals Pakistan and India, where India defeated Pakistan by 5–3 goals.
In the 12th minute of the match, India was awarded a penalty stroke, which was converted by Ashish Tani to give them the lead. In the second quarter, Pakistan’s Adeel scored a beautiful goal to level the match, and by half-time the score was 1–1.
In the third quarter, the pace of the game increased as India once again took the lead with a goal, but Pakistan quickly responded by scoring two back-to-back goals to take a 3–2 lead.
In the fourth and final quarter, the Pakistan team could not perform well, and India’s Ashish Tani scored three consecutive goals. Ashish Tani scored four goals in total, including a hat-trick.
The final of the event will be played today between India and Japan, while Pakistan will play the third-place match against Malaysia.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan Under-18 hockey team players are participating in an international event for the first time.
