The media reported that a two-member Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani represented Pakistan at the World Cup opening ceremony and official dinner.
The President of Mexico, speaking at the occasion, said that football leaders from across the world participated in the opening ceremony, adding that the country aims to host a historic and exemplary edition of the global tournament.
He said all available resources and efforts would be utilised to ensure the successful organisation of the FIFA World Cup, calling it a landmark event in sporting history.
