MEXICO CITY (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st October, 2018) Three Russian citizens were detained in Venezuela being suspected of attempted cocaine trafficking, local media reported citing the Venezuelan Public Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Cooperante media outlet, the Russians were among 20 people, who were on board of the Jose Progress vessel, where the Venezuelan security services found 147 kilograms (324 Pounds) of cocaine during a special operation.
Along with the Russians, 13 citizens of the Philippines, three Venezuelans as well as a Ukrainian citizen have also been detained
The vessel under the Panamanian flag was reportedly heading for the Belgian port of Gent.
The Russian Embassy in Venezuela has not confirmed the information yet.
