Turkish Security Forces 'Neutralize' 7 Kurdish Militants In Country's East - Reports

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th August, 2018) The Turkish security forces have killed or captured seven members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the course of counterterror operations in the country's eastern region, local media reported on Tuesday, citing the Interior Ministry.

According to the Anadolu news agency, five members of the PKK, which is regarded as a terrorist organization by Ankara, were neutralized in the province of Tunceli, and two more � in Kars province.

The tensions between Turkey and Kurdish militant groups seeking independence escalated in July 2015, leading to frequent acts of terror by the PKK and regular anti-PKK operations by the Turkish government. The Turkish security forces have been conducting counterterrorism operations against the PKK on a regular basis.
