Paris Hilton opens up about traumatic private video leak at age 19

American actress becomes emotional while discussing issue of fake images and videos in digital age during a recent press conference alongside Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

LOS ANGELES: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 23rd, 2026) Renowned American actress and businesswoman Paris Hilton has once again opened up about the traumatic experience of having her private video leaked at the age of 19. The incident, which occurred years ago, has had a lasting impact on her personal and professional life.

During a recent press conference alongside Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Hilton became emotional while discussing the issue of fake images and videos in the digital age. The socialite, who is known for her influence in fashion and entertainment and for raising her voice on social issues, recalled the painful experience when a private video of her was released without her consent. The video was labeled a "scandal," but Hilton described it as "pure exploitation."

Hilton’s candid remarks highlight the ongoing issues surrounding privacy and the exploitation of individuals, particularly in the digital age, where unauthorized content can easily be manipulated and shared.

At the time, Hilton explained, there were no laws in place to protect individuals from such violations, and the injustice she faced left her at a loss for words. “There were no laws to protect me. The injustice I faced was beyond what words could describe,” she said.

Hilton revealed that after the video was leaked, she endured intense shame, fear, and humiliation. "People mocked me, ridiculed me, and my pain was only used for news stories and clicks," she said.

The business mogul also disclosed that over 100,000 fake pornographic images of her, created using AI, still exist today. "This incident didn’t just harm my reputation; it made me lose control over my own existence, dignity, and self-confidence," she shared.

The video, which was filmed in 2001, was made with her former boyfriend Rick Salomon. In her memoir, Paris: The Memoir, Hilton claimed that she had been under pressure when making the video and was assured it would never be released.
