MUMBAI: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 19th, 2025) The Kannada film industry is in mourning following the tragic death of the four-year-old son of filmmaker Karthan Nadagowda, who served as a co-director on KGF: Chapter 2.
The child died after getting trapped in a building lift as per the media reports.
The sources said rescue teams were rushed to the spot immediately after the incident. Despite efforts to save him, the child, identified as Chiranjeevi Sonarsh, sustained severe injuries and later succumbed to them.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Kannada film fraternity, with several prominent industry figures expressing grief and offering condolences to the bereaved family. Messages of sympathy have poured in from across the film community.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan also expressed deep sorrow over the incident, confirming the tragedy through a social media post. He described the death of Karthan Nadagowda’s son as heartbreaking and conveyed his condolences to the family.
According to local media, the accident occurred on Monday. No official statement has been released by the family so far.
Karthan Nadagowda has built a strong reputation in the Kannada film industry as an assistant and co-director. He has worked as a second unit director on filmmaker Prashanth Neel’s major projects, including the KGF franchise and Salaar.
He is expected to make his directorial debut in Telugu cinema with an upcoming horror film, which is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Prashanth Neel.
