Mahira plays the role of a visually impaired woman in the film. Shortly after its release, an emotional scene—showing her character Neelofar crying and hitting herself—circulated widely on social media. The clip drew mixed reactions, with several users questioning her performance.
Speaking at a recent event, Mahira acknowledged the attention the clip had received, saying she is aware that her actions often become the focus of viral discussions.
“I know that whatever I do ends up going viral—whether I do something or not,” she said. “I’ve seen the clip. Sometimes all this noise becomes mentally exhausting.”
The actress added that although she does not take criticism negatively, the constant debate around viral moments can be draining.
“I don’t take critique in a bad way, but the commotion around these viral clips can be overwhelming at times,” she noted.
Mahira emphasized that her role in Neelofar was particularly challenging.
“It was a difficult character, and I tried to portray it with complete honesty and sensitivity,” she said.
