LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Dec 6th, 2025) Former actress Sarah Chaudhry, who left the entertainment industry for religious reasons, has revealed that she and her mother were subjected to numerous immoral offers as soon as she entered the world of showbiz.
In a recent podcast, Sarah opened up about her experiences, stating that harassment is not limited to the entertainment industry alone. However, she believes the industry gains a bad reputation because the general perception is that people working in showbiz have weak moral character.
She explained that some people took advantage of this mindset, making inappropriate requests, which made her initial months in the industry extremely difficult.
Sarah mentioned that she always had her mother with her on set, but it was her mother who faced the real challenges. In the beginning, they were offered propositions that deeply upset her mother. At one point, her mother even broke down in tears and urged her to focus on her education and stay away from this environment.
Sarah shared that the comments made to her mother were so rude that she found it inappropriate to even repeat them. Through hints, she suggested that she was told that in order to succeed in showbiz, she would need to make "certain compromises," or success would be difficult to achieve.
Sarah Chaudhry left showbiz in 2010. Today, she is married, a mother of five children, and actively involved in religious activities.
