NEPRA reduced K-Electric’s average tariff from Rs39.97 to Rs32.37 per unit for 2024–2030, a decision the company says could have long-term impacts on stakeholders and consumers.
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,21, 2025) The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued its decision on K-Electric’s review petitions regarding the multi-year tariff for fiscal years 2024 to 2030.
According to a K-Electric spokesperson, NEPRA has reduced the average tariff from Rs39.97 per unit to Rs32.37 per unit. The revised tariff covers various aspects of K-Electric’s operations, including generation, transmission, distribution, and supply.
NEPRA has maintained its earlier stance on the right of claims, while introducing significant changes in other areas — changes K-Electric considers unsustainable for the company.
The spokesperson added that these revisions will have far-reaching effects on all stakeholders, especially consumers. K-Electric is currently reviewing the detailed order and will determine its future course of action in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory frameworks.
