National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) reduces electricity rates by Rs0.18 per unit for local consumers

If NEPRA approves it, it will also apply to K-Electric consumers

NTDC spokesman says additional load management measures implemented in the HESCO region were carried out in accordance with the NEPRA Grid Code 2023.

The consumers now will bear additional burden of Rs600 after cabinet’s approval of the NEPRA’s proposal to further increase the electricity prices.

For residential use, a 3KW or 5KW solar setup is commonly installed to reduce high electricity bills and generate sufficient power for household needs.

The base electricity rate has been set at Rs27.66 per unit, comprising Rs9.69 for the electricity price and Rs17.66 for capacity charges.
