Petrol prices are likely to rise by up to Rs11 per liter while high-speed diesel may see an even sharper hike of Rs15 per liter for the next 15-day pricing cycle
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 30th, 2025) The major hike in petrol and diesel prices is likely from July 1 (tonight) for the next 15 days.
The global oil prices climb and the Pakistani rupee continues to weaken.
According to sources within the Petroleum Division, the petrol prices are likely to rise by up to Rs. 11 per liter while high-speed diesel may see an even sharper hike of Rs. 15 per liter for the next 15-day pricing cycle.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is expected to submit its price recommendation summary to the Ministry of Petroleum today.
The final announcement regarding the revised petroleum prices will be made later tonight.
The officials confirmed that the decision will be taken by the Finance Minister in consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The expected hike is driven by a combination of rising crude oil prices in the international market and the ongoing depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, both of which have placed increased pressure on the country’s import bill and fuel costs.
