The anticipated increase comes after a sharp rise in international crude oil prices, driven by escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, which have pushed global energy prices higher

Under the proposed system, OGRA will become solely responsible for determining the prices of petroleum products each night

The report, based on fuel prices effective from May 9, 2026, says maximum depot price of petrol has been fixed at Rs414.78 per litre  

Notification says similarly, price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs7.32 per litre

Petrol may increase by Rs4.39 per litre and light diesel oil by up to Rs6.55, with new prices expected to take effect from February 16 after approval. ‎
