Iranian judiciary identified executed individuals as Idris Ali, Azad Shojaei and Rasool Ahmad Rasool
TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 25th, 2025) Iran on Wednesday executed three men accused of collaborating with Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, just one day after a ceasefire was announced between Iran and Israel, marking a sharp escalation in ongoing tensions.
A report by international news agency AFP unveiled that the Iranian judiciary identified the executed individuals as Idris Ali, Azad Shojaei and Rasool Ahmad Rasool. They were convicted of smuggling weapons for use in an assassination and cooperating with Israel, which Iran considers a hostile foreign power.
A statement from the Iranian judiciary said the executions were carried out early Wednesday morning in the city of Urmia, located near the Turkish border.
Iranian state media outlet Mizan News Agency reported that the smuggled weapons were used in the killing of an unidentified individual. However, authorities did not disclose details about the victim or the nature of the operation.
The photographs of the three men in blue prison uniforms were released by Iranian media prior to their execution. Iran has a long-standing practice of prosecuting individuals suspected of spying for Mossad or other foreign intelligence services, often under strict national security laws.
The latest executions follow a similar wave of punishments earlier this week, during which at least five people were executed on similar charges of alleged ties to Israel.
