Five arrested in Iran's Yazd over alleged collaboration with Israel

Arrests come amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with both nations appearing to blink of a full war

TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 14th, 2025) Iranian authorities have arrested five individuals in the central city of Yazd on allegations of collaborating with Israel, according to Iranian media reports.

The individuals were reportedly apprehended for taking photographs and cooperating with the Israeli regime.

The arrests come amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with both nations appearing to blink of a full war.

The details surrounding the arrests remain scarce but the development follows a recent wave of military actions initiated by Israel early Friday morning, when it launched airstrikes on multiple targets across Iran. These included residences of top military officials and strategic nuclear and military installations.

Iranian state media reported that the Israeli attacks killed several high-ranking Iranian military leaders, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) chief General Hossein Salami, Chief of Staff General Bagheri, and Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters Commander Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, along with six scientists and other senior officers.

In retaliation, Iran launched Operation Wada-e-Sadiq 3, and fired over 200 missiles toward Israel in a four-phase counterattack.

Israeli media confirmed at least four fatalities and over 60 injuries resulting from the Iranian strikes. The situation remains highly volatile.
