Price adjustments will not apply to K-Electric consumers, lifeline users or electric vehicle charging stations
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 5th, 2025) The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday announced a hike in electricity prices by 93 paisas per unit across the country.
The NEPRA also simultaneously reduced electricity rates for Karachi by Rs2.99 per unit.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the price reduction for Karachi consumers is in response to the monthly fuel adjustment for April while the nationwide increase would be reflected in the electricity bills for June.
The price adjustments would not apply to K-Electric consumers, lifeline users or electric vehicle charging stations.
Meanwhile, a separate notification has been issued for K-Electric which reduced the electricity price by Rs2. 99 per unit. This reduction pertains to the monthly fuel adjustment for March and would be reflected in the electricity bills for June, providing some relief to consumers in the region.
The consumers are advised to keep an eye on their upcoming bills to account for these changes.
