WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th May, 2019) A dozen US companies have been named to compete for each order of a $5 billion contract to design and build horizontal constructions for border patrol sectors and the army, the Department of Defense announced in a press release.
"[The companies] will compete for each order of the $5,000,000,000... contract for design-build, design-bid-build horizontal construction task orders," the release said on Wednesday.
The task orders, the release added, will support the US Homeland Security Department's San Diego, El Centro, Yuma and Tucson Border Patrol sectors, along with the US Army Corps of Engineers South-Western Division and South Pacific Division.
Half of the contractors selected are based in California (2), New Mexico (2) and Texas (2) and one from each of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota and New York.
