Vietnam and Russia must promote military cooperation between the two countries to a new level, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh said Monday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd December, 2018) Vietnam and Russia must promote military cooperation between the two countries to a new level, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh said Monday."We are always sure that before, now, and in the future Russia will be a close, reliable friend of Vietnam. Our task is to promote the relationships of military cooperation between our countries to a new level," the deputy minister said during his meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The general noted that he came to Moscow this time to "express determination to categorize the decisions reached earlier on strengthening military cooperation between Russia and Vietnam." He further added that the situation in the region where Vietnam is located is "very unstable."
During the meeting, Shoigu said that Russia was ready to continue coordinating mutual activities to further develop the relationship between the countries, and that "this meeting will contribute to further strengthening of friendship in the spirit of strategic partnership between the ministries of the two countries."
Nguyen Chi Vin then recalled that Vietnam will be hosting the ASEAN summit in 2020, and said he hoped to coordinate and cooperate with Russia so that Vietnam can fulfill the obligations of the host country.
