MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th November, 2018) A powerful 6.2-magnitude earthquake was registered near the Solomon Islands on Friday, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake occurred at 03:26 GMT.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at the depth of 10.6 kilometers (8.5 miles), 132 kilometers to the east of the town of Kirakira, located in the country's southern Makira-Ulawa province on the San Cristobal island.
There has been no immediate reports about the casualties or damaged caused by the quake. No tsunami warning has been issued.
