Tehran claims fresh drone strikes on US bases in Kuwait
TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 23rd, 2026) Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any attack on the country’s energy infrastructure would trigger immediate retaliation, potentially causing widespread power outages in countries hosting US military forces and their allies.
In a statement posted on social media, IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Brig. Gen. Seyed Majid Mousavi said that if Iran’s power plants and key infrastructure were targeted, electricity disruptions in US-allied and host nations across the region would be “inevitable.”
He stressed that Iran would respond swiftly and forcefully to any attack on its strategic installations.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military claimed it had launched another wave of drone strikes against three US military bases in Kuwait as part of “Operation Saeqeh,” describing the attacks as retaliation for recent US strikes.
According to the Iranian military, drones targeted weapons and logistics warehouses at Camp Doha, fuel storage facilities at Ali Al Salem Air Base, and an ammunition depot at Camp Arifjan.
Separately, reports said the United States has begun deploying long-range B-1 strategic bombers in operations against Iran. US officials were quoted as saying that B-1 bombers struck IRGC targets on Tuesday, marking the first reported use of the aircraft since renewed hostilities between Washington and Tehran.
The B-1 bomber is capable of carrying nearly two dozen 2,000-pound bombs or dozens of cruise missiles. It can fly at supersonic speeds at low altitude and is regarded as one of the heaviest-armed bombers in the US Air Force.
The reports indicated that the B-1 aircraft involved in the strikes took off from a US air base in the United Kingdom. However, it remains unclear which specific targets were hit or whether the latest operation achieved greater effectiveness than previous strikes.
The United States had previously employed B-1 bombers during Operation Epic Fury, targeting missile bases, command centres, ammunition depots, and air defence systems in Iran.
