Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party president says IPP has emerged as third party in terms of vote share
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 8th, 2026) Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party President Abdul Aleem Khan has congratulated the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on securing victory as the largest party in the Gilgit-Baltistan General Elections.
In his congratulatory message, Abdul Aleem Khan stated that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have high expectations from the new Government and expressed hope that the PPP, after forming the Government, will effectively address the public's issues. Encouraging the candidates of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Abdul Aleem Khan said that the Party nominees ran a vigorous and dedicated election campaign and deserve appreciation for their efforts. He noted with satisfaction that IPP emerged as the third largest political party in Gilgit-Baltistan in terms of vote share.
Abdul Aleem Khan thanked the people of the northern region for placing their trust in the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party and paid tributes to the voters and party workers who worked tirelessly to strengthen the party’s vote bank. He reaffirmed that IPP would continue to play its role in promoting the development and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan. He further assured that the IPP would maintain close and continuous engagement with the people of the region.
Abdul Aleem Khan explained that, due to his responsibilities as a Federal Minister, he was unable to participate directly in the election campaign. However, he emphasized that he remains fully aware of the challenges facing Gilgit-Baltistan and will continue working through effective coordination, sustained engagement, and comprehensive planning to help address these issues.
Expressing his gratitude once again to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, Aleem Khan appreciated the warm response received by IPP ticket holders during the elections. He noted that in several Constituencies, IPP candidates narrowly missed victory by only a small margin of votes. President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party also extended his best wishes to the party organization and encouraged party workers to remain active and continue contributing to the welfare and development of their respective areas.
