Geneva (Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain met with the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Hongbo on the sidelines of the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva. He was accompanied by representatives of employers and workers from Pakistan.
The meeting discussed in detail the rights of workers, better employment, social security, preparation of skilled manpower and creation of new employment opportunities.
Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that Pakistan is taking practical steps for the welfare of the working class, safe and dignified employment, and providing modern skills to the youth so that the Pakistani workforce can get better opportunities at the global level. He also briefed on Pakistan’s progress in implementing international labor conventions and protecting workers.
ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Hongbo appreciated Pakistan’s initiatives for workers’ welfare and social justice and expressed his commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation.
