On day four of the Lahore Test, South Africa resumed their chase of 277 runs, needing 224 more after Tony de Zorzi fell early to Shaheen Afridi.
LAHORE : (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,15, 2025) The fourth day of the Test match between Pakistan and South Africa began at Gaddafi Stadium, with the visitors needing 224 more runs to win and seven wickets still in hand.
At stumps on day three, South Africa had reached 51 for 2 while chasing a target of 277. Captain Aiden Markram was dismissed for 3 and Wiaan Mulder for a duck.
Resuming their innings on day four, openers Ryan Rickelton and Tony de Zorzi took the field, but de Zorzi fell early without adding to his overnight score, becoming Shaheen Shah Afridi’s first victim of the day.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 378 runs in their first innings and bowled out South Africa for 269, securing a 109-run lead. However, Pakistan’s second innings collapsed for just 167, setting South Africa a target of 277 for victory.
With three days’ play completed, the match remains evenly poised as South Africa aim for a challenging chase while Pakistan look to wrap up the series with a strong bowling performance.
