LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct,14, 2025) Pakistan tightened their grip on the Lahore Test as Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan produced exceptional bowling performances to dismiss South Africa for 269 runs in their first innings.

Resuming play on the third day at 216 for six, South Africa failed to add significantly to their overnight score despite a fighting century by Tony de Zorzi, who scored 104 runs. Ryan Rickelton also contributed 71 runs but found little support from the rest of the batting lineup.

For Pakistan, Nauman Ali was the standout performer with six wickets, while Sajid Khan claimed three and Salman Ali Agha took one.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 378 runs in their first innings, with Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha both scoring 93, captain Shan Masood adding 76, and Mohammad Rizwan contributing 75 runs.

With a 109-run first-innings lead, Pakistan are in a strong position heading into the remaining days of the Test match.
