ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 4th, 2025) The possible dates for the 11th and 12th editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Wednesday surfaced as the Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) looks to avoid scheduling clashes with other major international tournaments.
The reports suggested that the PCB is considering holding the 11th edition of PSL between December 2025 and January 2026. The 12th edition is likely to be scheduled between January and February 2027. However, these dates are not final and may be adjusted according to the international cricket Calendar.
The PCB is also planning to expand the league to eight teams in the 2026 edition, aiming to increase the tournament’s popularity and competitive edge.
In addition, the PCB intends to host exhibition matches in Peshawar during the 2026 season. This move comes after the city was unable to hold matches this season due to poor stadium conditions.
Earlier this year, the PSL schedule was postponed due to Pakistan hosting the ICC Champions Trophy, which resulted in an overlap with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The PCB hoped that the new scheduling and expansion would strengthen the PSL’s position as a premier T20 league on the global stage.
