LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 29th, 2026) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved a wide-ranging financial package for national and domestic cricket, including increased match fees, a higher domestic cricket budget, infrastructure development, and enhanced support for women's cricket.
The decisions were taken at the 84th meeting of the PCB Board of Governors, chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
The Board unanimously approved the PCB's surplus budget for the 2026-27 financial year, along with the budget for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). It also approved granting administrative and financial autonomy to the PSL.
To strengthen domestic cricket, the board increased its annual budget from Rs3 billion to Rs4 billion.
The meeting also approved a new central contract framework and revised payment mechanism for national team players, including an increase in match fees.
As part of the revised financial structure, the match fee for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy players was raised from Rs30,000 to Rs100,000, while reserve players' match fee was increased from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000.
The Board of Governors also approved funding for women's One-Day and T20 tournaments as part of efforts to promote women's cricket in the country.
In another key decision, the minimum monthly salary for regional ground staff was increased to Rs42,000. The board also allocated funds to make 12 additional cricket grounds operational and support the required human resources.
To improve cricket infrastructure, the board approved Rs6.7 billion for the upgradation of the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi and other cricket facilities across the country.
Funding was also sanctioned for the installation of a biomechanics machine at the High Performance Centre in Lahore to strengthen sports science and player development.
The Board of Governors further ratified the decisions taken during its previous meeting.
During the meeting, PCB Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza presented a detailed briefing on the board's budget estimates and financial projections for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
The meeting was attended by Board of Governors members, senior PCB officials, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed and other directors.
