Shoaib Akhtar announced the death of his brother in a post on X, expressing grief over the loss and praying for the departed soul.
“My beloved brother Shahid Akhtar has returned to Allah Almighty,” the former pacer wrote.
He also informed followers that the funeral prayers for Shahid Akhtar would be offered after Asr prayers in Islamabad’s H-8 sector.
Following the announcement, messages of condolence poured in from fans, fellow cricketers and social media users, who expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased.
