The price of petrol has been raised by Rs5.44 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become Rs31.05 per litre more expensive, says notification
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 17th, 2026) The Federal government has increased the price of petrol to Rs316.15 per litre and high-speed diesel to Rs354.35 per litre for one day, ahead of the launch of a new daily petroleum pricing mechanism under the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the price of petrol has been raised by Rs5.44 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become Rs31.05 per litre more expensive.

The revised prices will take effect from 12:00am and remain applicable until the following night.
From the next day, OGRA will begin announcing petroleum prices on a daily basis under the government's newly introduced pricing mechanism. The regulator will determine fuel prices in line with fluctuations in the international oil market, with updated rates to be published daily.
The government says the new system is aimed at improving transparency and ensuring that any increase or decrease in global oil prices is reflected more promptly in domestic fuel prices.
