US to Boost Visas for Non-Agricultural Seasonal Workers - Homeland Security

The United States will offer an additional 30,000 visas this year for non-agricultural seasonal workers, the Department of Homeland Security said in a press release on Monday

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th May, 2019) The United States will offer an additional 30,000 visas this year for non-agricultural seasonal workers, the Department of Homeland Security said in a press release on Monday.

"The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) will publish a joint rule making available an additional 30,000 H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visas for Fiscal Year 2019," the release said.

The visas will be available only to returning workers who were granted status in the last three years, according to the press release.

DHS urged Congress "to pursue a long-term legislative fix" and establish an appropriate number of visas to both accommodate the needs of US businesses without harming American workers.
