MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th May, 2019) The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) passenger plane of the Russian state air carrier Aeroflot, which burnt down at the Mocow Sheremetyevo Airport earlier on Sunday, underwent scheduled maintenance in April, its manufacturer said.

"The aircraft MSN 95135 was produced in August 2017. It was under scheduled maintenance in the beginning of April 2019," the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft said in a statement.

"The representatives of the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, the manufacturer of the aircraft, are part of the commission conducting the investigation," the company added.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed Russian Transport Minister Evgeny Ditrich after the incident to establish a state commission on investigating the circumstances behind it.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 had to make an emergency landing earlier in the day at the Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport due to the fire on board. The incident claimed life of one person, while six others were injured. Aeroflot confirmed that the fire had been extinguished.
