Mumbai (Pakistan Point News / Online - 30th April, 2019) Rani Mukerji is all set to return as fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2 and the shooting is taking place in a full swing. The film marks the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran and produced by Aditya Chopra under his home banner Yash Raj Films. went on floors a month back. Mardaani 2 is a sequel to 2014's hit film titled Mardaani which also starred Rani was directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
After sharing the first look in April, the makers have yet again teased the fans with a new still from Mardaani 2. In the photo, Rani is seen in a police uniform while giving an intense look. The official social media pages of YRF shared Rani's still from the film and wrote, "#RaniMukerji dons the cop uniform in #Mardaani2".Like the first part, even in Mardaani 2, Rani will be seen fighting a merciless villain, who is of 21 years of age. Interestingly, Gopi was the writer of the first Mardaani.
Earlier talking about the project, Rani had said, "Mardaani is and will always be extremely close to my heart. Since its release, everyone has asked me time and again when I would be doing Mardaani 2 and I'm sure this announcement will come as a pleasant surprise to all of them. Gopi has written an extraordinary script and I can't wait to start shooting this film soon."Rani is leaving no stone unturned in completing the shoot for the film. The release date is yet to be announced.
