Peshawar Zalmi crush Karachi Kings in last league match of PSL-4

A large number of cricket lovers watched the match. Both the teams qualified for playoffs.

KARACHI- (Pakistan Point News- 11th March 2019) Peshawar Zalmi have thrashed Karachi Kings by 61 runs in last league match of Pakistan Super League season four (PSL-4) at Karachi’s National Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Playing first the Peshawar Zalmi set the target of 204-run which Karachi Kings could not achieve in the 30th match of PSL-4. All players of the Kings went back to the pavilion at a total score of 142.

CA Ingram was the highest scorer of the Kings who made 71 runs off 37 balls with the help of seven boundaries and four sixes, followed by Imad Waseem who scored 30 off 25 deliveries. He hit two fours and one six. Babar Azam and CM Munro started the innings but dismissed on score 13 and duck respectively. LS Livingstone made six runs, BR Dunk six, Iftikhar Ahmad four and Sohail Khan one. Muhammad Amir, Umar Khan and Usman Shinwari also made no run. Hasan Ali was the highest wicket taker as he dismissed three players following two wickets each by Sameen Gul, TS Mills, and Wahab Riaz.

Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and opted to ball first.

Kamran Akmal and Imamul Haq opened the innings and made 145 runs partnership. Muhammad Amir dismissed Imam at the score of 59 while Umer Khan caught by Akmal at 86 on Munro’s ball. Akmal made the score on 48 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and five sixes.

No other player of Zalmi made a considerable addition to the scoreboard. KP Pollar scored 12, LA Dawson 9, DGJ Sammy 5 and Wahab Riaz 10. Shoaib Maqsood and Hassan Ali went not out on 12 and one score respectively. Muhammad Amir took three wickets, Usman Shinwari dismissed one and C Munro bowled two players.

A large number of cricket lovers have already reached the stadium to support their teams. The match started at 7 pm amid tight security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.

It was the second match of the day. The earlier game was played between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans which the Qalandars lost. Both the teams failed to qualify the playoffs.
