ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-July 12nd, 2026) Pakistan's Test squad departed from Islamabad International Airport on Monday for the West Indies to begin preparations for its upcoming ICC World Test Championship (WTC) series against the hosts.

The team will travel to the Caribbean via Doha and London before arriving in Trinidad and Tobago, where it will play a four-day warm-up match and a two-Test series.

Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan will play its matches at the Brian Lara cricket academy in Tarouba and the historic Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.

Ahead of the tour, the national squad completed an intensive three-day training camp at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The players also participated in a two-day scenario-based practice match as part of their preparations for the challenging Caribbean conditions.

Pakistan is scheduled to play a four-day practice match from July 18 to 21, providing the team with valuable match experience before the start of the Test series.

The two-match ICC World Test Championship series between Pakistan and the West Indies will be played from July 25 to August 10. The opening Test will be held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, while the second and final Test is scheduled to take place at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.

The series will be an important assignment for both teams as they look to strengthen their positions in the ICC World Test Championship standings. Pakistan will be aiming to make a positive start to the tour with a strong performance in the warm-up fixture before taking on the West Indies in the highly anticipated Test series.
