Adel al-Jubeir discusses India-Pakistan peace options with Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and COAS
LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News – 7th March 2019) Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir has spent a busy day in Islamabad on Thursday and held meetings with Prime Minister Imran Kham, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajva.
In his meetings with the prime minister, COAS and foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir discussed Pak-India tension and various options to deescalate it, said the sources.
Adel conveyed a special message of King Salman and Crown Prince MBS to Prime Minister Khan. He also discussed various options to establish peace between the two neighbors in his meetings with Bajwa and Qureshi. The minister went back to Riyadh after concluding one day visit on Thursday night. He will convey the outcome of his meeting with Pak leadership to the Saudi king and crown prince.
The leadership of both the countries discussed the Pak-India situation and other issues in the meeting, according to reports.
Earlier, Qureshi welcomed Adel on his arrival and both the foreign ministers discussed the prevailing situation in the region. Qureshi also hailed the Saudi offer of mediation between the two countries.
“We welcome the offer by Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to mediate between Pakistan and India,” said Qureshi after holding talks with his counterpart. Adel and Qureshi also discussed bilateral relations and the situation of the middle East.
