NEW YORK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st December, 2018) Members of the Senate of the US state of New York plan to hold another visit to Russia to discuss cooperation between the United States and Russian regions, Anton Konev, the New York state Senate director of legislative affairs, told Sputnik.
"Senators request organizing a new visit [to Russia] and we hope that lawmakers from the Republic of Tatarstan will come to New York this year, too," Konev said on Friday during the Youth Forum in New York.
Konev noted that New York state lawmakers planned to visit Moscow, Kazan and Tula during their trip.
The lawmaker argued that cooperation between Russia and the United States was also being maintained on the level of sporting events.
For example, in the city of Novomoskovsk, located in the Tula Region, US boys who played hockey ran in contests and met with the greatest Russian hockey players, such as Pavel Bure and Alexander Ovechkin, Konev added.
"We are continuing the dialogue on the level of state officials, government, sports, businesses," the lawmaker pointed out.
New York state senators visited Russia in September 2017.
The Youth Forum took place at the Russian Consulate in New York. The platform is aimed at strengthening the relations between Russia and the United States and preserving Russia's cultural and historical legacy among its nationals living abroad.
