Deserted PTI members form grand alliance for not getting election ticket

PTI Issued Lists Of Tickets Holders For General Elections last night

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 9th June, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued lists of its contesting candidates for national assembly and provincial assemblies seats for the upcoming general election last night.

The list, however, had a few errors like including PMLN’s Nazia Raheel’s name in the list which she denied.

Several objections have also been raised over the list issued by the party. The PTI apparently did not award tickets to its members Ali Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Yousafzai and Shehryar Afridi. The leaders have raised objections over the list and the deserted leaders have announced to form a grand alliance in this regard. This alliance also includes PTI leaders from Mardan.

The members of this grand alliance will protest outside Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence.

According to the PTI central media cell statement issued yesterday, some 173 candidates were finalized for seats of the National Assembly while 290 candidates for provincial assemblies.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will contest election on five seats of National Assembly including Islamabad (NA-53), Bannu (NA-35), Karachi (NA-243), Mianwali (NA-95) and Lahore (NA-131).

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, party tickets to 81 candidates for various Constituencies had been issued so far while in Punjab, tickets for 165 constituencies had been issued.

Similarly, Names of 21 candidates had been announced for 21 constituencies of Sindh and 23 forBalochistan assemblies so far.

PTI Central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi will contest election from NA-156 (Multan), Fawad Chaudhary from NA-67 (Jhelum), Pervaiz Khattak NA-25 (Nowshera), Murad Saeed NA-4 (Swat), Abdul Aleem Khan NA-129 (Lahore), Dr Yasmeen Rashid NA-125 (Lahore), Ejaz Chaudhary NA-133 (Lahore), Shafqat Mehmood NA-130 (Lahore), Usman Dar NA-73 (Sialkot) while Ghulam Sawar Khan will be field from two constituencies of Rawalpindi (NA-59 and NA-63) in the coming general election.

PTI did not even award tickets to its members who got a huge number of votes in the previous elections, including Hamid Khan who contested against PMLN’s Saad Rafique from NA-125.

Upon a reaction from the PTI leaders who were not awarded election tickets, the PTI chairman issued a statement saying that awarding tickets to the electables was an important yet difficult task. We received 4500 applications. It was not possible to entertain them all. The party took decisions with much hard work and honesty. He said that those who did not get tickets, I request them to keep moving with me.
